Building on the Willamette Light Brigade’s 36-year legacy of lighting Portland’s bridges and the success of the Portland Winter Light Festival, this initiative will:
• Enhance civic pride and a united sense of place by creating a visual identity that reflects Portland’s creativity and innovation.
• Strengthen Portland’s reputation as a national leader in nighttime placemaking, public art, technology and creativity.
• Reinvigorate the waterfront, increasing engagement for residents, businesses and visitors.
• Boost tourism and economic activity, drawing new visitors and businesses to the Central City.
•Celebrate community causes and events, creating a platform for visual public dialogue, civic expression and shared experiences.
